About Us

Abreu CPA is a client-focused accounting firm based in Norwalk, CT, dedicated to providing high-quality tax, accounting, and financial consulting services with a personal touch. We are passionate about helping individuals and businesses achieve financial clarity and success, and we pride ourselves on building a collaborative, dynamic work environment where every team member is valued.

Position Overview

We are a growing Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm dedicated to providing comprehensive tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounting, and advisory services to individuals and small businesses. We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and client-focused Account Executive to work directly with clients for tax preparation.

In this role, you will manage the entire client lifecycle—from initial discovery and onboarding to document collection, progress tracking, and final delivery—while driving revenue growth by identifying opportunities for additional accounting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery & Needs Assessment

  • Lead initial discovery and consultation meetings to assess individual and business needs for personal tax, corporate tax, and advisory services.
  • Coordinate multi-departmental discovery calls involving internal specialists (e.g., CPA, Accountants, etc.) to ensure the appropriate suite of services is offered.
  • Prepare and present accurate tax preparation and fee quotes.
  • Capture and distribute meeting notes and action items.

Onboarding & Workflow Management

  • Guide new clients seamlessly through the firm’s onboarding process.
  • Issue welcome communications, intake organizers, checklists, and engagement letters via the firm’s CRM/client portal.
  • Verify submitted documents for completeness and accuracy, auditing client files against intake checklists.
  • Maintain clear notes in the CRM regarding outstanding documentation and systematically follow up to retrieve required tax records.

Client Communication & Engagement Lifecycle

  • Serve as the central point of contact, delivering clear and proactive updates on tax return status and engagement progress.
  • Facilitate internal workflow routing: coordinate with Senior Staff/CPA during initial quality reviews and corrections as needed.
  • Facilitate final review deliverables, transmitting completed returns to clients for review, digital signature, and fee payment.
  • Coordinate final e-filing submissions once client authorization and payment are received.

Post-Filing Support & Business Development

  • Execute post-filing follow-ups to confirm document receipt, ensure satisfaction, and answer operational questions.
  • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve revenue expansion targets through cross-selling add-on services (e.g., tax planning, tax resolution, tax strategy, monthly accounting, and financial services).
  • Maintain long-term client relationships to drive client retention and referral growth.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Education: Coursework in tax, finance, accounting, business administration, communications, or sales/marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in account management, sales, client success, or professional services administration (CPA, legal, or financial services environment preferred).
  • Track Record: Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, meet service delivery timelines, and hit revenue expansion/sales targets.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft 365 Suite: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint.
  • Client Portals & Document Management: Familiarity with cloud document repositories, secure file transfer protocols, and electronic signature systems.
  • CRM Systems: Working knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or accounting-specific CRMs like Liscio, Canopy, Karbon, or Jetpack Workflow).

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture that values a collaborative, people-first culture where your ideas are valued and your growth is supported.
